Help Charlie Repair His Home
I want to talk about my friend Charlie.
Charlie is one of those guys who has always been there — the kind of person who shows up when you need him, gives more than he takes, and never complains about the hand he's been dealt. He spent his life working hard, and now he's getting by on Social Security. It's not much, but he makes it work. What he can't make work is what's happening to his home.
The Situation
Charlie recently inherited his brother's house in South Carolina and is in the process of moving up from Georgia. The SC house is actually in better overall condition than where he was living in GA — but it still needs real work before it's livable. Right now there's no running water because a pipe burst in the yard, and that's just the most immediate problem. There are repairs that need to happen before Charlie can settle in and call it home.
These are the kinds of things that stack up fast when you're on a fixed income and simply don't have the money to keep up with everything. It's reached a point where the conditions are affecting his ability to get moved in, his daily life, and his sense of stability.
Charlie doesn't ask for help. That's just who he is. But I watched this go on long enough, and I knew something had to be done.
What We're Doing About It
So we started a GoFundMe.
Every dollar donated goes directly toward getting Charlie's home cleaned and repaired. We're talking about real, tangible improvements — things that will make his living situation safe, clean, and stable again. No administrative overhead, no middleman. Just help for a good man who needs it.
If you've ever wanted to do something that actually makes a difference in a real person's life, this is one of those moments. $5 helps. $20 helps. $50 changes things. Whatever you can spare, it adds up fast when a community rallies together.
A Good Man Deserves a Good Home
Charlie has given a lot to the people in his life over the years. This is our chance to give something back. His situation isn't the result of bad choices or poor character — it's the result of aging, a fixed income, and the relentless cost of life. It could happen to any of us.
Please consider donating, and if you can't donate, please share the campaign. Getting the word out is just as valuable as a donation — the wider this reaches, the more we can do for Charlie.
